Plaque, with bust of Charles X of France

This earthenware wall bust has a relief profile bust of Charles X of France. The plaque is was one of two made in 1834 by William Reid's pottery at Musselburgh in East Lothian. The other featured a bust of the Duc d'Angouleme of France.

The Duc d'Angouleme and Charles X, members of the exiled French royal family, stayed in Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh for a period in 1830.
