Porcelain cup painted with the arms of Logan of Restalrig

This porcelain cup was made in China in the 18th or early 19th century, during the Qing dynasty. It is painted with the arms of Logan of Restalrig,

Cup of porcelain, painted in the coat-of-arms and motto of Logan of Restalrig: China, export ware, Ch'ing dynasty, 18th or 19t

Chinese porcelain had been imported into Europe since the 16th century, but by the 18th century armorial dinner services were being ordered from China. Families who wanted their arms painted on export porcelain sent out engravings to China to be copied.
