In memoriam card

In memoriam cards were distributed to friends and relatives by bereaved families. This example is for Archibald Nichol who died on the 12th February, 1875, aged 23.

One of a collection of twenty five in memoriam cards

Ceremonies marking baptism, marriage and burials still often took place in the home in Victorian Scotland. New affordable products offered new ways of marking these occasions.
