This is the second page of a letter signed by Dr David Livingstone and dated 8 February 1858.

Autograph letter of Dr David Livingstone, African traveller

David Livingstone (1813-73) first visited Africa in 1841 and quickly became involved in exploration. He was an opponent of the slave trade, and believed the only way to rid Africa of slavery was to open up the interior to 'Commerce and Civilisation'.
