Medal (Reverse), commemorating opening of Forth Railway Bridge

This is the reverse of a bronze medal commemorating the opening of the Forth Railway Bridge in 1890 by Edward, Prince of Wales. The medal was made by L.C. Lauer of Nuremburg.

The inscription on the reverse states that 'THE/ BRIDGE/ WAS/ OPENED BY H.R.H./ THE PRINCE OF WALES/ ON TUESDAY MARCH 4, 1890' and that 'THE BRIDGE WAS BEGUN IN DECEMBER 1882'. It also gives the dimensions and the cost of the bridge.
