Bronze medal (reverse) of Perth Golfing Society

This is the reverse of a bronze medal of Perth Golfing Society dates from 1838. The badge was presented to the society by the Duke of Buccleuch.

The reverse features a golfing scene with four figures.

The first golfing society was the Company of Gentleman Golfers of St Andrews, founded in 1754. The oldest prize is the Edinburgh Silver Club - bought by the Town in 1744 - but the creation of a formal club to play for it took place only some years later.
