Glasgow Cup gold medal (reverse)
Add to album

This is the reverse of a Glasgow Cup gold medal given to Sam English of Rangers Football Club in 1932.

The reverse has a figure of 'winged Victory' holding a football in the air.

The growth of Scottish football was astonishing. The first international match took place in 1872 and the Scottish Cup was set up in 1873. By 1890 the sport was dominated by Glasgow's `Old Firm', Celtic and Rangers.
