This is the obverse of a copper turner minted in Edinburgh between 1632 and 1639, during the reign of Charles I. The coin was worth two pence Scots.

The obverse bears a crown above 'CIIR' (for Carolus Rex [King Charles] and two pence. Below are three lozenges, and to each side a pellet. The Latin inscription translates as: 'Charles, by the Grace of God, King of Scots, England, France and Ireland'.
