Add to album

This pair of silver communion cup are part of a set of four made by David Warnock in 1762. The cups were presented to St. George's Tron Parish Church in Glasgow by the Trustees of Bailie Robert Tennant.

Each cup's squat, almost straight-sided bowl is engraved with the Arms of Glasgow and `Donation by the Trustees of Bailie Robt: Tennants Mortification'. In a ribbon above the arms is 'Let Glasgow Flourish' and in a ribbon below 'MDCCLXII'.

The other two cups in the set are now owned by St. Mungo's Museum of Religion in Glasgow.
