Indian Mutiny Service medal (obverse)

This is the obverse of an Indian Mutiny Service Medal awarded to Sergeant-Major James McMillan, a warder in the former National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland. The medal was given for his service during the Indian Mutiny of 1857-8.

The obverse has a bust of Queen Victoria.
