This is the reverse of a metal trade token of the Glasgow Tramway and Omnibus Company Limited. It dates from the late 19th century.
The obverse has the inscription 'Letter Carrier in Uniform'.
In the 19th century, Glasgow began to build a network of tram routes. Operation was leased to a company until 1894, when it came under full municipal control.
