Pamphlet associated with the Treaty of Union between Scotland and England

This pamphlet entitled 'An Answer to Some Queries etc Relative to the Union' is associated with the Treaty of Union in 1707. The Treaty united the parliaments of Scotland and England. The Union of the Crowns had taken place in 1603.

Book, `An Answer to Some Queries, etc., Relative to the Union', `Printed in the Year 1706'

There was considerable opposition to the Union within the Scottish parliament. Pamphlets were issued by those in favour of union and those against. Daniel Defoe, the author of Robinson Crusoe, described the pamphlet debate as a 'pen and ink war'.
