Earthenware bowl

This earthenware bowl was decorated by Jessie M. King in the 1940s. King tended to decorate blanks purchased from factories.

The bowl is painted with a band of running deer in brown on blue.

Jessie M King (1875-1949) had talents which led her to explore different materials. She inspired others through ventures such as the 'Green Gate Close', a studio shared by women in Kirkcudbrught.
