Figurine of a fishwife

This painted earthenware figure of a fishwife was made around the 1820s probably in one of the factories at Prestonpans in East Lothian. Sherds similar to parts of the base were found at the site of the town's Belfield's Pottery.

Glazed earthenware figure of a fishwife painted in polychrome, made at Portobello, 18th century
