Model of a bridge built across the Dornoch Firth

This model is of a bridge built across the Dornoch Firth in 1830. The bridge was designed by Robert Stevenson.

The bridge has laminated wood ribs.

Robert Stevenson designed many bridges, devising a new form of suspension bridge which supported the roadway above rather than below the chains.
