Model, of vertical boiler

This model shows a vertical boiler with cross tubes which was developed and made from 1878 by Messrs Cochran & Company Ltd at Birkenhead in Merseyside. The boiler was made of steel. The model is made of brass and dates from the 1880s or 1890s.

Messrs Cochran & Company Ltd moved from Birkenhead to Annan in Dumfriesshire in 1898.
