Bangle

This shale bangle was found at the site of the Roman fort at Newstead in Roxburghshire. It was made from Dorset shale between 80 and 180 AD.

The bangle is broken in places.

The Roman army obtained supplies from three zones: locally (either by the army or natives), within the Roman province of Britannia, or further afield in the Roman empire.
