Pot

This small ceramic pot was found inside an urn in a burial from Craigdu at North Queensferry in Fife. The burial dates between 2050 and 1500 BC.

By around 1750 BC, in mainland Scotland, cremation had become the favoured funerary custom. With the exception of small accessory vessels such as this one, grave goods were rare and generally modest.
