These fragments of an urn and a boar's tusk were found at Rathen in Aberdeenshire. The boar's tusk was buried as a grave good with the cremated remains in the urn, sometime between 2050 and 1600 BC.

Only fragments of the urn remain, but the tusk is reasonably well-preserved.

For over 5000 years, people in Scotland have hunted for sport and prestige as well as to obtain food. This boar's tusk was a hunting trophy, sufficiently valued to be included as a grave good at a time when few people were buried with objects.
