Bangles of bronze
Add to album

These two bronze bangles were found at Migdale in Sutherland in a hoard containing an axehead, jewellery and dress accessories. The bangles are part of two sets of three, worn to resemble Continental spiral armrings.

The bangles are made of solid bars of bronze, butt-jointed at the ends.

The Migdale hoard represents the possessions of a wealthy high status owner, with links across the North Sea.
