From Lochnell, Argyll Cleigh, Loch Nell

Dagger
Add to album

This bronze dagger was found in a cist at Lochnell in Argyll. It was used sometime between 2300 and 2050 BC.

The flat blade is triangular and tapering in shape. There are three rivets at the end.

The first definite weapons appeared during the early Bronze Age. Daggers such as this one were probably weapons, although they could have been used for hunting.
