Spearhead

This bronze spearhead was found at Inverness in Inverness-shire. It dates from between 1500 and 1150 BC.

The spearhead has a stout socket and flat loops.

Spears were used both for fighting and for hunting. Some were designed to be thrusting weapons, while other lighter examples were designed to be thrown.
