This bronze spearhead was found at Boreland near Blackford in Perthshire. It dates from between 950 and 750 BC.

The leaf-shaped spearhead has two holes above the socket edge for pegging the wooden shaft.

Spears were used both for fighting and for hunting. Some were designed to be thrusting weapons, while other lighter examples were designed to be thrown.
