Flint arrowhead
Add to album

This flint arrowhead is one of a number found at Craigsford Mains, Berwickshire. It could have been used for hunting, or in combat, or both. It dates from sometime between 3800 and 2500 BC.

The arrowhead is of yellow-brown flint. It is leaf shaped, a type common throughout Neolithic Britain.

Bows and arrows were used for both hunting and fighting. The bows and arrow shafts, however, rarely survive.
