Arrowhead

This flint arrowhead was found in Banffshire. It dates from between 3800 and 2500 BC. Arrowheads of this nature could have been used for hunting or for fighting.

The arrowhead is leaf shaped, a type common throughout Britain in the Neolithic period. Its tip and edges are damaged, perhaps from use.
