Composite flint knives (parts)

These tiny pieces of composite flint knives were found at Luce Sands in Wigtownshire. They date from between 8000 and 4000 BC and would have been set into a wooden, bone or antler handle and used as a knife.

The narrow blades of flint are blunted along one edge to allow hafting.
