Shoulder belt plate

This shoulder belt plate was worn by an officer of the 75th Highland Regiment. It dates from between around 1816 and 1829.

The plate's design incorporates a tiger to commemorate the regiment's service in India between 1788 and 1806.

The 75th Highland Regiment was raised in Stirlingshire by Robert Abercromby of Tullibody.
