This late 18th century tin-glazed earthenware plate was probably made by the Delftfield Pottery in Glasgow.

The central circle is decorated with a bird, groups of flowers and a fence surrounded by a linked diamond border.

Delftware and other ceramics were exported in large quantities from Glasgow to the North American market.
