Tureen, made in Glasgow
Add to album

This tureen was made in the mid 19th century by Glasgow potters J. and M.P. Bell.

The tureen is transfer-printed with a 'Warwick Vase' pattern. Bell's exhibited a modelled version of the Warwick Vase at the Great Exhibition of 1851.

John and Matthew Perston Bell's company became one of the biggest and best-known potteries in Scotland. In production by 1842, the Glasgow Pottery, or 'Bells' as it was more commonly known, made a wide range of wares.
