Earthenware teapot

This earthenware teapot was made at Morrison and Crawford's Rosslyn Pottery at Kirkcaldy in Fife. It dates from the late 19th or early 20th century.

The decoration on the teapot is known as 'dabware' because the colours were dabbed on and allowed to run together. This type of decoration was characteristic of the Rosslyn Pottery. The teapot is marked 'M & C/Fireproof'.

Morrison and Crawford's Rosslyn Pottery was started in 1878.
