This transfer-printed earthenware dinner plate was made by Robert Cochran & Company of the Verreville Pottery in Glasgow. It dates from the second half of the 19th century.

The pattern is called 'Asiatic Pheasants'.

Apart from the standard willow pattern, 'Asiatic Pheasants' was probably the most popular of all blue-printed designs in the second half of the 19th century.
