Gold scarf pin associated with Keir Hardie

This gold scarf pin belonged to the family of Keir Hardie (1856-1915).

The pin is set with a tear-shaped red stone at the head.

James Keir Hardie was a key founder of the labour movement. He was elected as the Independent Labour Member of Parliament for South West Ham in 1892 and later became chairman of the Independent Labour Party.
