Mourning ring

This gold mourning ring commemorates three members of the Hutton family. It dates from the 19th century.

The ring has a rectangular bezel containing a sample of plaited hair of one of the deceased. The ring is engraved on the inside 'Janet Hutton OB : 26 May 1824 AE :70. John Hutton OB : 2 Oct 1810 AE 77. Anne Hutton OB: 7 May 1811 AE.'
