Bottle, in shape of Highland soldier

This glass bottle, in the shape of a Highland soldier, dates from late 19th century. The kilted Highland soldier featured prominently in the national and international image of Scotland, and was reproduced in a variety of ways.

At the foot, the bottle includes a representation of a tree stump which 'supports' the soldier.
