Bottle, made in Culloden
Add to album

This glass bottle was made in the late 18th century at the Ferintosh distillery on Forbes of Culloden's lands in Inverness-shire. It was probably used for whisky.

The bottle has 'Culloden' moulded on the front.

The Ferintosh distillery was destroyed by the Jacobites during the first Jacobite rising in 1689. The family's reward for loyalty to the government was exemption from tax on the whisky they produced.
