Banner, associated with Stewarts of Ardsheall, Argyllshire

This silk banner bears the yellow saltire of the Stewarts of Ardsheall in Argyllshire. Stewart of Ardsheal was Colonel of the Appin Regiment in the Jacobite Army and the banner is said to have been carried at the Battle of Culloden in 1746. It is probably a near contemporary copy of the Banner of the Appin Stewart Regiment.

Blue silk banner with a yellow saltire of the Stewarts of Ardsheal, said to have been carried at the Battle of Culloden, 1746
