Stirrup

This iron stirrup was found at Dunfermline Abbey in Fife. It dates from between the 13th and 15th century.

Iron stirrup from Dunfermline Abbey

The oldest part of Dunfermline Abbey, the nave, was built in 1128, during the reign of David I. The rest of the abbey dates from the 19th century and is built in the Gothic Revival style.
