This painted silk apron is of Armadale Thistle Lodge in West Lothian. Dating from between 1830 and 1898, the design is thought to be of the Knights of St Joseph, a higher Order of Free Gardeners.

The painted images include, in the centre shield, a scene with Adam & Eve.
