Sketch for a bedspread

This pen and ink sketch for a bedspread was designed by Sir Robert Lorimer around 1890. The bedspread was for Kellie Castle, Lorimer's summer home in Fife.

The scale is inked in along the bottom of the sketch.

Sir Robert Lorimer (1864-1929) was one of the foremost architects of his day. He was inspired by traditional Scottish buildings and by the natural world. His commissions included interiors and furnishings as well as buildings.
