These brass pins were found at Crossraguel Abbey in Ayrshire. They date from between the 13th and 15th century.

Most of the pins have heads formed from a piece of wire wound and pressed around the top of the shaft..

Crossraguel Abbey was founded in the early 13th century as a house of Cluniac monks. Most of the original buildings were replaced in the 14th and 15th centuries. The abbey buildings are now in the care of Historic Scotland.
