Coin die, for Charles II eighth-dollars (Obverse)

This iron coin die is for striking the obverse of Charles II silver eighth-dollars. It dates from 1676.

The die has a bust of Charles II crowned with a laurel wreath. The inscription translates as: 'Charles II, by the Grace of God'.
