Coin die, for Charles II half-dollars (obverse)

This iron coin die is for striking the obverse of Charles II silver quarter-dollars. It was made at the Scottish Mint in Edinburgh in 1681.

The die has a bust of Charles II crowned with laurel leaves. The inscription reads 'Charles II, by the Grace of God'.
