Bowls

This pair of silver-mounted wooden prize bowls dates from 1910.

The bowls are decorated with silver plaques, one of which is engraved 'Presented to Peter Scott Esqr., Honorary President, Buccleuch Bowling Club, Hawick, 1910'.

The Scots created modern bowling by playing it on the best quality of turf rather than any patch of ground beside a public house or country house.
