Brooch

This silver Highland ring brooch was found on Rannoch Moor in Perthshire. It dates from the late 16th century.

The flat round brooch is profusely decorated on both sides. The decoration on this side is a local variation on Renaissance art. It features grotesque heads, interlace and leafy scrolls.
