Brooch (front), given to Mary McPhail, nurse of Alexander McKenzie

This is the front of a silver brooch gifted to Mary McPhail by Alexander McKenzie. Mary was Alexander's nurse, and the brooch was given to her in 1760, in recognition of her nursing services.

The front is decorated with leaves and flowers. There is a swivel pin in the centre of the brooch.
