Gold locket with miniatures of Mary, Queen of Scots and James VI

This gold and enamel pendant dates from the late 16th century. It has tiny miniatures of Mary, Queen of Scots and James VI on the outside.

The locket is surrounded by a ropework of seed pearls. Inside is a portrait of a man, and at the top there is a suspension loop.
