This brass spur was found on Culloden Moor near Inverness. It dates from the 18th century.

Brass spur found on Culloden Moor, 18th century

Strengthened by the return of troops from continental Europe, government forces commanded by the Duke of Sutherland continued their pursuit of the Jacobites. On 16 April 1746, at Culloden near Inverness, the Jacobite army was routed.
