This bronze prick spur was found in the ruins of Linlithgow Palace in West Lothian. It dates from around 1300.

The prick spur is decorated with incised lines.

There was a royal manor house on the site of Linlithgow Palace from the time of David I. It was converted into a garrison 1301-2 by Edward I of England, falling into Scottish hands again in 1313. The present palace dates from 1425.
