This brass candle holder belonged to the Incorporation of Glovers in Perth. It dates from the 18th century.

In the early 18th century manufacturing was still dominated by the trades incorporations. They protected members' rights, maintained quality and were involved in burgh government. By the 19th century, however their role had become mainly ceremonial.
