Tea caddy

This silver tea caddy was made in Aberdeen around 1730 by George Cooper.

Silver tea-caddy by George Cooper, Aberdeen, c. 1730

Cooper was admitted as a goldsmith in 1728 after serving his apprenticeship with George Robertson, a goldsmith burgess of Aberdeen from 1708-28. Cooper specialised in items for the tea table.
